The mission of the Robotic Rehabilitation Program is to facilitate the direct application of robotic technologies into clinical practice by serving as a bridge between industry partners and Rancho’s rehabilitation therapists. Robotics and Technology in Rehabilitation creates a pipeline where robotic technologies and smart systems can be safely integrated as part of standard clinical practice in the rehabilitation of pediatric and adult clients with the diagnoses of but not limited to stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, cerebral palsy, hemispherectomy, and other neurological conditions. Robots can focus on improving range of motion, coordination, strength, movement speed, and movement smoothness to improve functional activities and overall health. Robots are deployed within the inpatient and outpatient settings and integrated into individualized occupational therapy rehabilitation programs.
