The Rehabilitation Therapy Department Professional Visitors Program at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center provides tours and other customized experiences to visiting healthcare professionals from other countries as well as the United States. We offer tours that include a general overview of our facility and the services provided by each therapy discipline. Tours are customized depending upon the interests of the individual or group. Each discipline offers a variety of specialty areas of focus.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Department focus experiences might include a tour of Rancho’s Pathokinesiology Laboratory (which both conducts research and provides clinical instrumented diagnosis of complex gait impairments) or the Center for Applied Rehabilitation Technology (CART). Other opportunities are extensive instructional programs that could include shortened versions of Rancho Gait Courses. All tours can be tailored to the needs of the requesting party.

Occupational Therapy

A customized Occupational Therapy Department specific experience may include tours of Rancho’s inpatient and outpatient OT services, Technology Lab including state-of-the-art robotics equipment, the Center for Applied Rehabilitation Technology (CART) including the Model Home, the Occupational Therapy directed Rancho Works Café & Gift Shop, the Lifestyle Redesign informed program, the Driver Rehabilitation and Training program, and the Work Rehabilitation program.

Speech Therapy and Audiology

Tours focused on Speech Therapy and Audiology may include programs such as Rancho’s Adult Brain Injury Service and the Rancho Levels of Cognitive Function, pediatric programs across the continuum of care, audiology services, the Center for Applied Rehabilitation Technology (CART), and Don Knabe Wellness Center Wellness programs as well as other advanced assessment and innovative treatment programs.
