RRI Transportation

Rancho Research Institute (RRI) PATIENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICE

The RRI Patient Transportation Service provides wheelchair accessible transportation for individuals with disabilities and special needs. We provide temporary transportation services for outpatients to and from home while they seek long-term transportation. This is a shared ride service, where the shuttle carries several patients at a time, to and from Rancho. Patients must be referred to the service and meet additional requirements.

For more information about the RRI Patient Transportation Service, please click here or call  (562) 385-6778.

Access Services

Access Services is a curb-to-curb shared-ride service for people with disabilities who due to their disability are unable to ride the metro bus/train. It is not a cab service, emergency medical or social service transportation. Access provides service within ¾ mile of fixed-route bus and rail line in Los Angeles County. As a shared ride service your travel time will be similar to that of a fixed-route bus, not a car or taxi. A one-way fare is based on the distance you travel with a maximum fare of $3.50 (except to/from and in Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys).

There are three Access Services drop off locations on Rancho campus; see campus map for details. An Access Services liaison is available to assist riders as needed.

For more information call (213) 270-6110 or visit www.accessla.org

Practice Bus Program

The Practice Bus Program offers patients the opportunity to practice boarding and exiting an MTA bus. Bus operators and trained personnel offer free marking and tethering for patients using wheelchairs. This program helps patients and families build confidence in using public transportation. The program is available monthly. For more information contact Rancho Clinical Social Work Department at (562) 385-7867
