August 2023

Community Partners, Every August, health centers around the country host events, health fairs and more to mark National Health Center Week. We know your hard work and dedication isn’t limited to just August but rather continues every day of the year. Nevertheless, the My Health LA team was excited to see the various celebrations earlier this month. Some featured giveaways to patients and families, while others included local legislators and dignitaries. There were dental screenings, back-to-school fairs, food markets, enrollment events, homeless connect days, open houses and ribbon cuttings. They all served to raise awareness about the critical role of community health centers in our health care landscape. Los Angeles County and its residents depend on you for ensuring access, providing high-quality care and bridging health disparities. Thank you to all of you!

Here at My Health LA, we recently held a gratitude event for all the staff in the program. Former director Amy Luftig Viste and I handed out certificates and gifts to everyone, and we shared memories and a delicious lunch to thank our staff for their years of contributions to the program, to the Community Partner clinics and most importantly, to our MHLA participants. We hope you will extend a special thank you to any MHLA staff member who you may have worked with throughout the program. Congratulations to two of our staff members, Mattie Jones and Veronica Christian, who both retired this summer.

Thank you and please continue to watch out for announcements and upcoming information about specialty care transitions, the incentive program, and more.

Looking forward to fall deadlines, please remember that September 30, 2023 is the last day to add a new clinic site with a completed/approved Health Plan FSR.
