November 2023
Community Partners,
Thank you for attending our final MHLA webinar about the program, which will formally sunset on January 31. Please see below for more about the webinar and additional resources about the end of the program.
As a reminder, the MHLA Member Services line will stop accepting live calls at the end of the program. If individuals do want to switch to Department of Health Services for both primary and specialty care, they can call the DHS line at 844-805-0055. DHS staff will help find the best clinic based on the patient’s location preference, age, medical condition, and availability of doctors.
Our annual DHS Diabetes Day is coming on December 4 – the article below provides more details. Please register for the event, which always has a ton of great information about how to best care for patients with diabetes. This is the 10th anniversary of the event.
MHLA, Venice Family Clinic and California’s Medi-Cal expansion were recently featured in the Harvard Public Health magazine. Read the article here. Please let us know if you would be open to having a reporter come out to your clinic, as we have had some additional interest in writing articles about the end of MHLA and the Medi-Cal expansion.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to all you celebrate! I hope everyone has some time with friends and family. We at MHLA are grateful for all of you.
–Anna Gorman, Director, My Health LA
