MHLA Community Partner Connection Newsletter

Community Partners,

Happy Spring! My Health LA is working hard on several fronts, including preparing the upcoming contract changes and on planning for the final few months of audits. We are also exploring how Community Partners will access eConsult for their low-income participants who remain ineligible for Medi-Cal. And of course, we are continuing to help you all add new clinic sites to your contracts and to promote restricted Medi-Cal enrollment for MHLA participants.

We have been participating in monthly calls with the Department of Health Care Services and advocates from across the state about the Medi-Cal expansion and providing feedback on the website, the letters to eligible individuals and more. The expansion, as you know, is still on track for January and they are editing the first letters and FAQs now.

As a reminder, participants do not have to renew their MHLA coverage –  eligible participants are being automatically extended until January 31, 2024. New applicants can continue to enroll in MHLA. We would like to remind all One-e-App system users to never share their login information with anyone. Sharing account and password information jeopardizes the security of the system and the privacy of MHLA participants.

Thank you all for continuing to partner with us in this final year of MHLA. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have ideas or concerns about the Medi-Cal expansion or anything else related to the MHLA program. It would be nice to hear from you! –- Anna Gorman agorman@dhs.lacounty.gov

Have a topic you want to see explored, an event that should be highlighted, or an article we should include? We would like to feature your CP in 2023. Contact jsampana@dhs.lacounty.gov with ideas.

Sunsetting Overview 1024 683 My Health LA

The My Health LA program is scheduled to end January 2024, but for a very good reason: the final stage of the Medi-Cal expansion will extend its coverage to the remaining MHLA participants. Between then and now, a couple of major changes will occur in the program to prepare for the sunsetting and the transition of MHLA participants to Medi-Cal.
