The City of Los Angeles has created the largest Guaranteed Basic Income pilot program in America, leading the nation in bold initiatives aimed at confronting poverty.

The pilot provides 3,000 applicants chosen at random to receive $1,000/month for one year.

Qualifying individuals will receive regular, direct cash payments.  There are no restrictions on how the money can be spent.
