Social Work Month 1024 546 Health Services Los Angeles County

March is recognized nationally as Social Work Month. “Empowering Social Workers” is the National Association of Social Workers’ (NASW) theme for March 2024. The LA Health Services’ Social Work unit’s purpose is to improve overall wellness of the community, build authentic partnerships to elevate the voices of those we serve, and cultivate a standard of excellence to uphold the community as a whole. This is accomplished by delivering equitable and culturally intelligent care by empowered, creative, and innovative professionals and leaders. We have over 600 LA Health Services staff throughout the department, including in Clinics, Hospitals, Correctional Health Services, and Housing for Health. Social Workers serve in the capacity of: Clinical Social Work Chief, Clinical Social Work Supervisor, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Clinical Social Workers, Medical Case Workers, Community Health Workers and Substance Use Counselors. The LA Health Services Social Work Department continues to have a tremendous impact in enhancing the lives of our patients by addressing mental health, substance use, trauma experiences and providing tangible resources for social care such as food, housing, and transportation. Please join me in celebrating and thanking our LA Health Services Clinical Social Work team!
