Mental Health

There are many places where you or a loved one can get help during difficult times. People often don’t
get the mental health services they need because they don’t know where to start.
If you feel sad, have extreme high and low feelings, are having trouble functioning at school, work or at
home, if you have dramatic changes to your sleep and appetite, or think about hurting yourself or
others, please talk honestly with the health care team at your clinic.
If you need help right away, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) supports
the wellbeing of our County residents and communities. The LACDMH’s help line is available 24/7 to
provide mental health support, resources and referrals at (800) 854-7771. For emergency help call 911.
One of the hardest and most important steps may be just starting the conversation. You do not have to
be an expert or have the answers. We are here to help.
