Well Visits For Newborns, Children And Adolescents
Well-Child Visits are doctor appointments to check on your child’s development and take steps to keep them healthy.
During a Well-Child Visit your child’s doctor goes over important information about their health, wellness, and growth. Your child will get a complete physical where doctors will:
- Measure your child’s heart rate
- Take your child’s blood pressure
- Measure your child’s oxygen levels
- Listen to your child’s lungs
- Look at your child’s eyes, ears, and throat
- Press on your child’s tummy to feel their organs
- Move your child’s hips and legs
The doctor will talk to you about all of this, and make sure your child is up to date on their vaccines (shots). They might also ask you about what they eat, if they are active, and how they are doing in school. Well-Child Visits are a great time to bring up any concerns you have about your child’s health.
If your child is due for their Well-Child Visit, please make an appointment through the LA Health Portal or contact one of our clinics.
