The County of Los Angeles and Worker Education and Resource Center (WERC) are currently offering a free pre-employment training program for those interested in becoming Community Health Workers for LA County Department of Health Services. The training program will provide participants with in-person classroom training, Civil Service Exam preparation, resume/interview preparation and much more. Those interested in applying for this program must meet at least one of the following:
- Receiving CalWORKS, GR or CalFresh
- Homeless, or is housing insecure
- Justice involved
- Former foster youth
- Unemployed for 6 months or more

WERC is a non-profit organization that provides workplace development programs in partnership with public service employers in LA County. The WERC organization focuses on working with people that experience barriers to employment and connects them to employment opportunities.
