MHLA Holds First Community Council Meeting

MHLA Holds First Community Council Meeting 1024 683 My Health LA

We held the first ever MHLA Community Council meeting on March 17.  Seven council members joined the remote meeting which was led by our own Cynthia Lopez and Francia Nava.  The meeting was held in both English and Spanish, with translation provided by Cynthia and Francia.  The focus of the initial meeting was to communicate to council members the purpose of the council, as well as to provide the opportunity for MHLA council staff and members to introduce themselves and for members to share why they wanted to join the council.  Several council members expressed their gratitude for MHLA, as well as highlighting areas for improvement.  Both views are welcome as we will circle back to our council members to draw further on their MHLA experiences in future meetings.

Finally, MHLA continues to look for additional members to join the council.  So, please continue to share our recruitment materials in English and Spanish with individuals who may want to be part of the council. Our next council meeting will take place in late March or early April.  Updates to come at future date.
