MHLA Community Partner Connection Newsletter
Community Partners,
Happy National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month! Please see below for some celebrations throughout LA County and we would love to see photos on how you marked the month.
Our DMH colleague, Robert Levine, is retiring. Congratulations to Robert on all his accomplishments with the Department of Mental Health. He has been the lead on the My Health LA Mental Health Prevention Services project since before its inception and has been an incredible partner to DHS, MHLA and all the Community Partner clinics. We thank him and we wish him the very best upon his retirement!
Our new MHLA audit season has started. Please remember the nurses are available to provide some technical assistance during the audits as well.
The annual Care Harbor event scheduled for late October has been cancelled. We will provide updates on the new dates.
On August 31, 2022, 463 participants were disenrolled from MHLA as a result of turning age 50. We can expect a monthly drop of 400 to 500 participants moving forward, accordingly. As our participants become eligible for full-scope Medi-Cal, we urge all Community Partners to assist these individuals enroll in restricted Medi-Cal before their 50th birthday or ensure they apply for and are linked to DPSS to complete the application process at Benefitscal.org. This will assist with the transition. Thank you for your help and please reach out with any questions!
