As you may know, for several years My Health LA has teamed with the health information exchange Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES) in the effort to encourage all Community partners in the MHLA network to joins LANES. The purpose of LANES is to enhance the sharing of patient clinical data with other providers in Los Angeles County, including DHS. Through LANES, MHLA clinics can receive secure and HIPAA-compliant electronic information about a MHLA patient’s visit to a DHS specialty care provider or ER, as well as from other providers in the Los Angeles County provider ecosystem. In other words, when you send a MHLA patient to a DHS specialist or the patient visits a DHS Emergency Department, you will know what happened at that visit because all of the info will be in LANES.
We continue to encourage all MHLA Community Partners to join LANES! To date, 39 of the 51 MHLA Community Partners have joined LANES and most are working toward full ‘live’ sharing of patient data. If you don’t know whether your agency is participating, please check with your leadership to see where your organization is in the onboarding process.
