September 15 to October 15 is National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month! Los Angeles County and My Health LA celebrates the contributions, cultures, and histories of the Latino American community. Although September is all but concluded, we can look forward to some future celebrations in the month of October 2022.
Here are a few upcoming events in Los Angeles County:
- Oct 1- Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month Featuring Pedro Rivera Asian Industry B2B is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in a tribute to cross culture partnerships throughout the community. The event will feature famous singer Pedro Rivera and spotlight a variety of local vendors in this community event at Ganesha Park in Pomona. Admission is free and the event will run from 4 PM to 8 PM. Event details are available here.
- Oct 6– Heart and Hand virtual Book Talk: Celebrating Authentic Cultural Representation LA County Library and its Chicano Resource Center will be hosting a virtual event that will focus on celebrating authentic cultural representation. The event will feature a discussion between Library Director Skye Patrick and author of “Big Chicas Don’t Cry” and “Too Soon for Adiós” Annette Chavez Macias. The virtual event hosted on Zoom is scheduled to run from 6 PM to 7 PM. Those interested in attending can register on the LA County Library website.
