The Department of Radiology at LA General provides a comprehensive range of advanced imaging services to support patient care across all medical specialties. Our subspecialty-trained faculty combine clinical expertise and a commitment to a patient-centered approach to deliver timely and accurate diagnoses. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, we play a vital role in guiding treatment decisions and improving outcomes. Each of our divisions offers specialized expertise and state-of-the-art imaging tailored to the unique needs of the patients we serve.

Body Imaging (Abdominal/Ultrasound, Cardiothoracic, Pediatrics):

Abdominal/Ultrasound Imaging:
Provides advanced CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopic imaging for diseases of the abdomen and pelvis. Services include specialized studies to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, as well as minimally invasive image-guided biopsies and drainages.

Cardiothoracic Imaging:
Specializes in imaging of the heart, lungs, and mediastinum using cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, high-resolution chest CT, and thoracic vascular imaging. Supports care for cardiovascular disease, lung disease, and thoracic malignancies.

Pediatric Radiology:
Dedicated to imaging newborns through adolescents, our pediatric radiologists focus on radiation safety, pediatric-specific imaging protocols, and work closely with pediatric specialists to provide accurate, compassionate care.

Breast Imaging
Focused on early breast cancer detection, our breast imaging specialists provide screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, ultrasound, MRI, and image-guided biopsy in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Emergency Radiology
Our emergency radiologists provide rapid interpretation for trauma and other acute conditions, working in real-time with emergency and trauma teams to guide urgent patient management.
Musculoskeletal Radiology
Provides advanced imaging of bones, joints, muscles, and soft tissues to diagnose sports injuries, arthritis, tumors, and trauma-related conditions. Using MRI, CT, ultrasound, and image-guided procedures, our faculty collaborate with specialists to deliver precise and timely diagnoses and guide treatment.
Neuroradiology
Specializes in imaging of the brain, spine, head, and neck using MRI, CT, and angiographic techniques. Supports care for stroke, tumors, neurodegenerative disease, trauma, and complex head and neck disorders.
Nuclear Medicine
Using PET, SPECT, and hybrid PET/CT, our nuclear medicine experts perform functional and molecular imaging to detect diseases early and offer targeted radionuclide therapies for select conditions.
