In the month of June, we proudly celebrated Pride Month, a time dedicated to honoring the LGBTQ+ community and recognizing the ongoing struggles and triumphs in the fight for equality and acceptance. At LA Health Services, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone—patients, staff, and the communities we serve.
This year, we flew the Progressive Pride flag at all our facilities to symbolize our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and progress. The Progressive Pride flag expands upon the traditional rainbow flag. Each element of this flag carries deep meaning: the rainbow stripes represent the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community; the black and brown stripes acknowledge and support LGBTQ+ people of color, highlighting the intersectionality of race and sexual orientation; and the pink, light blue and white stripes reflect the transgender community, promoting awareness and acceptance of gender diversity.
By flying the Progressive Pride flag, we are celebrating the rich diversity within our organization and committing to continuous efforts toward inclusivity and equity. It serves as a visual affirmation of our dedication to ensuring every individual feels seen, valued, and supported.
At LA Health Services, we recognize that true inclusivity goes beyond symbols, and we are committed to embedding it into our policies, practices, and daily interactions. We strive to provide culturally competent care that respects and understands the unique needs of our LGBTQ+ patients. We are dedicated to creating a supportive work environment where LGBTQ+ staff feel safe and empowered, and we actively engage in continuous education and advocacy to dismantle barriers and promote health equity.
LA Health Services workforce members joined the Pride Parade in Hollywood for the second time. Here are some photos that capture the spirit and joy of the day.
