ODR’s Reentry programs provide support and services to people reentering society after incarceration. These services, such as employment, can increase public safety and reduce recidivism and homelessness by helping people achieve the stability and support they need to reintegrate into society.

These programs include SECTOR (Skills and Experience for the Careers of Tomorrow), which creates economic opportunities with expanded support. Since its launch in 2021, SECTOR has helped more than 400 people train for positions in high-growth sectors that serve as pathways to family sustaining wages.

One client participated in SECTOR through community partner Chrysalis in February of 2021. She had lost her job due to the stresses caused by domestic violence and was homeless until September 2020. SECTOR helped her find stability. She began receiving a monthly stipend and childcare assistance, which made it possible for her to complete job training and therapy sessions. Before long, she had earned a full-time paid apprenticeship and was working toward a permanent job.
