The 2020-2021 employee Influenza vaccination award for excellence has been awarded to Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center (Rancho). Rancho achieved a 79% employee vaccination rate and an overall compliance rate of 93%. The Rancho staff and leadership are to be commended for ensuring patients and co-workers are healthy during the influenza season and their commitment to patient safety, as demonstrated by these results. Rancho put into practice the LA County Health Officers and Health Services recommendations that the single best method to protect oneself and others against the flu is to get vaccinated.

Dr. Hal Yee, Chief Deputy, Director of Clinical Affairs of Health Services, presented Lilli Thompson, Director of Rehabilitation Therapy, along with Dr. Dennis Wong, Medical Director of Employee Health, and Leilani Hermosura, Assistant Nursing Director of Employee Health, with a commemorative plaque in recognition of this achievement. Special thanks go to the Employee Health Services and Infection Prevention and Control team that worked tirelessly on a robust influenza campaign during one of the worst public health pandemics of the century.
