Workforce EDIA Listening Sessions Coming Soon! 1024 576 Health Services Los Angeles County

The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Antiracism (EDIA) Initiative is picking up steam. This month we launched capacity building sessions for Subcommittees and Affinity Groups. In these sessions, participants build their knowledge of EDIA topics and gain trauma-informed, embodied practices to help grow their capacity to engage in the EDIA strategic planning process. This is exciting, yet difficult work, and we are so grateful to all the participants who came to these sessions with open minds and hearts.

October was also Filipino American History Month. In honor of this month, the EDIA Initiative conducted a roundtable discussion with three workforce members about the unique experiences of Filipino healthcare workers and how Health Services can better meet the needs of Filipino patients and staff.

And in case you missed it, check out our interview with Dr. Erika Flores Uribe (The Website is Accessible for Health Services Staff only) from Latinx Heritage Month, where she explains why language and representation matter.
