From September 15 to October 15 we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. During this time, we recognize the culture, contributions and heritage of Hispanic Americans. This national observance started in 1968 as a weeklong observance and was extended to a month in 1988. Many Latin American countries’ independence days are represented throughout September and October.
