This month the EDIA Initiative is celebrating Women’s History Month!

We’re amplifying the voices of women across Health Services! On March 23, we spoke with women from across DHS to hear their perspectives on the most pressing issues for workforce, patients and community.

See what they had to say in the Women’s History Month Roundtable (link is only available to DHS staff), facilitated by EDIA Initiative Program Co-Lead Devika Shankar.

In case you missed it –

We asked members of the DHS-wide Women’s Affinity Group what it’s been like to be involved with the EDIA Initiative. Here’s how they described this experience so far:

This month in the EDIA Initiative:

  • The EDIA Council, made up of representatives from each of the 8 EDIA Subcommittees, 6 Affinity Groups, and the EDIA Advisory Group, ratified the final EDIA values, vision, and mission statements;
  • The EDIA Council chose leadership to help guide the strategic planning process;
  • The EDIA Council divided into four workgroups—Workforce; Education and Development; Quality/Patient Care; and Population Health—to begin incorporating the strategic planning groups’ recommendations into a draft EDIA strategic plan
