Dialysis, Post-Polio and Tuberculosis Plans

These are low-cost programs that can help with the cost of Dialysis (Renal disease), Post-Polio care and Tuberculosis (TB) hospital care at County hospitals and clinics.

Who can get it?

  • Persons requiring treatment for Dialysis, Post-Polio and Tuberculosis related medical services
  • If eligible for full-scope Medi-Cal benefits with zero Share-Of-Cost and ineligible for special programs

How much does it cost?

  • Varies, depending on family size and Adjusted Gross Income from Federal Tax Statement, 
  • If eligible for Ability-To-Pay (ATP) Plan with a lower liability, ATP is used to lower a patient’s out-of-pocket expense

What is required?

  • Dialysis and Post-Polio Plans – California residence
  • Tuberculosis Plan – No requirements

What is covered?

  • Dialysis (Renal disease) medical services, including hemodialysis, tests, medicines and kidney transplantation
  • Any Post-Polio related medical services
  • Tuberculosis related medical services, including hospital care and follow-up, does not include regular doctor visits
