Who We Are

Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is a teaching hospital, affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with all physician faculty having UCLA academic appointments. The hospital trains medical residents in 22 medical specialties, sponsored either directly or by UCLA.

Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is an acute care hospital that serves the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys. The hospital provides a full range of medical-surgical inpatient and outpatient services.

The hospital was founded in the 1920s as a tuberculosis sanatorium.  After drugs were discovered and began to be used in the 1950’s to cure tuberculosis, Olive View became a general hospital. The current hospital building was opened in 1987.
