Cancer Screening
Regular screenings help detect cancer, and if found early, increase the chances of treatment increasing survival. Women in Los Angeles County have access to both Breast cancer screening and Cervical cancer screening often at no cost or low cost through our women’s health services. Mammograms are the best way to screen for breast cancer and Pap test help to find abnormal cells in the cervix which may turn cancerous.
Early detection is critical for effective treatment. The Department of Health Services provides comprehensive cancer care from screening to treatment and survival to all women in Los Angeles County.
