data-contrast=\"none\">Since 1997, the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation has been partnering with Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to explore the visual arts as therapy.\u00a0 Many of our Rancho artists began their artistic journey in the pediatric art program and have progressed to the point of becoming<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0instructors.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span only\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">does<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0the participation in an arts program\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">reduce stress and anxiety,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">but it also\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">serves<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0as a great means of self-expression\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and confidence building<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0 This\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">allows<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0our patients to escape from the routine of their daily lives in hopes of coping with life&#8217;s challenges<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0through data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">song, dance, and poetry as a way to meet their goals of reintegrating into the community. Supported by<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Occupational Therapy, the program motivates individuals to push themselves physically whether to walk<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">on stage, to learn to dance from a wheelchair, or to strengthen their breathing for better vocal<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">production.
