The hospital provides a full range of medical-surgical inpatient and outpatient services.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital was founded in the 1920s as a tuberculosis sanatorium.\u00a0 After drugs were discovered and began to be used in the 1950&#8217;s to cure tuberculosis, Olive View became a general hospital. The current hospital building was opened in 1987.<\/p>\n<p>Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is a teaching hospital, affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with all physician faculty having UCLA academic appointments.
