Pharmacy Updates – Reimbursement 1024 863 My Health LA

MHLA is working to expand access to Medication-Assisted Treatment for MHLA participants. Previously, MHLA participants could only get medications such as Buprenorphine, Disulfiram and Naltrexone if the prescriptions were written by a provider at their Medical Home clinic. Now, MHLA participants also get the medications if the prescriptions are written by a provider at an LA County DPH Substance Abuse Prevention & Control clinic.  MHLA participants will be able to pick up their prescriptions at any MHLA network pharmacy, including the Ventegra pharmacies, on-site pharmacies or dispensaries or 340B pharmacies. We are also changing how MHLA reimburses for the medications. Please see Provider Information Notice 21-02 here. The changes take effect December 1.

We hope that this will enable more MHLA participants to access the treatment they need. Please let your Program Advocate know if you have any questions.
