MHLA Community Partner Connection Newsletter

Community Partners.

Since the start of the pandemic, the nation has seen an increase in substance use. At the same time, COVID-19 has created challenges for people accessing treatment. We are trying to get more comprehensive information about how MHLA participants receive help for addiction. Some MHLA participants receive free substance use disorder services through the LA County Department of Public Health Substance Abuse Prevention and Control. Others receive treatment at their medical home clinic. We recently sent a survey to you all, and we request that one person from each agency complete it by Oct. 11. The information will be helpful as we continue to improve access to care. We will let you know if we need additional information.

As you all have seen, the COVID-19 booster has been approved for certain LA County residents. Find more information about who is eligible here, and we hope you will do everything you can to get the word out to MHLA participants. Please also continue urging participants to get their flu shot. It’s more important than ever to get the flu shot. Let’s keep everyone safe and healthy!

Thank you so much and please reach out with any questions.      — Anna Gorman
