MHLA Community Partner Connection Newsletter

Community Partners,

Happy belated Thanksgiving. I am thankful for our ongoing partnership with each and every one of you. I hope everyone had a safe holiday and that you were able to take some time to relax.

In December, we will begin recruiting for our MHLA Community Council, which will be made up of MHLA staff, participants and family members. The vision is “to collaborate with our participants and their families to improve their experience and the quality of the MHLA program.” Look out for the recruitment flyers and information.

We are making a few changes to the  MHLA Mental Health Prevention Project. The changes primarily focus on the screening process. Thank you to CCALAC for hosting the biweekly meetings and to all of the CPs who participated in a workgroup to discuss how to improve the project. We plan to issue a Provider Information Notice with the changes soon.

Finally, the Medi-Cal expansion is only six months away. We are working with the Department of Public Social Services to identify which of our participants 50 and older are already on restricted scope Medi-Cal. We will forward the names and Medi-Cal status to each CPs.

Thank you again!   — Anna Gorman, Director of Community Partnerships
