MHLA Completes 2020-21 Audits 600 388 My Health LA

The MHLA Contract and Audit Administration Unit is pleased to announce that we have completed the FY 2020-21 contract audits of all 52 agencies (224 sites) approved to provide primary and/or dental services to MHLA participants.

The information below lists the audit components completed and a summary of the audit results for each area.

  • Facility Site Review/Credentialing Review

MHLA conducted a total of 208 FSRs/CRs. Only one site was required to submit a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) due to a critical deficiency.

  • Medical Record Review

MHLA conducted a total of 213 MRRs. Fifty-three (25%) of the 213 MRRs required a CAP.

  • Dental Record Review

For FY 2020-21, 52 sites provided dental services to MHLA participants. Only three of the 52 sites were required to submit a CAP, one less than in FY 2019-20.

  • Dental Site Review

MHLA conducted 50 DSRs. Eleven (22%) of the 50 sites showed deficiencies but only two (4%) were required to submit a CAP.

In addition, no CPs are facing liquidated damages this year. MHLA thanks all Community Partners for your collaboration in helping complete the 2020-21 contract audits.

The FY 2021-22 audits are well underway. As MHLA shared, there were very few changes on the tools. One significant change was that the MRR tool was changed to reflect the USPSTF recommendation changing the age for colorectal cancer screening to 45 years and older. However, MHLA has made the decision not to score the element this audit year.

The new DHS new Expected Practice (EP) regarding Colorectal Cancer Screening can be found here  and on the eConsult platform.
