LA County Department of Health Services is currently offering select gender affirming services to MHLA participants. Gender affirming services such hormone therapy plans and surgical interventions are available as a specialty care service via standard MHLA eConsult specialty care referrals.

Below is a listing of services that are performed at Health Services:

• • • Top surgery (chest masculinization)
    • Breast augmentation
    • Facial feminization and masculinization
    • Tracheal shave
    • Hysterectomy
    • Orchiectomy

However, there are a few services that are NOT performed at Health Services:

• • • Vaginoplasty
    • Phalloplasty
    • Metoidioplasty
    • Body contouring

Currently, laser hair removal of facial hair is not available pending repair of the relevant laser equipment. However, this is subject to change and may be offered in the future.
