This is to remind you that MHLA participants receiving care at Health Services specialty care clinics or hospitals will be screened by Los Angeles County Health Services staff for Medi-Cal and other health insurance programs. If a participant refuses to be complete the financial screening process at Health Services, they may receive a bill for services received. For this reason, please ensure that participants are notified of this policy and that they are provided the Emergency Medi-Cal referral during the One-e-App enrollment process. Please encourage your enrolled participants to complete the financial screening process with the Patient Financial Services at the Health Services facility where they receive services. Please see the provider bulletin that reviews the policy. In addition, we encourage you to help get all MHLA participants enrolled in restricted Medi-Cal.
