CPAP Inquiry for My Health LA/DHS Update 1024 683 My Health LA

With the ongoing recall of Philips Respironics devices and global shortage of computer chips required for both CPAP and BiPAP machines, global supply of the respiratory devices is struggling to meet demand. In our April 2022 CP Connection Newsletter, My Health LA provided an update regarding the shortage of CPAP machines due to a global recall and the Covid pandemic. As of August 2022, the shortage situation has not changed, with allocation of CPAP machines being supplied on a case-by-case basis.

Regarding request forms, both CPAP and BiPAP machines can be requisitioned from Calox using the same form. However, please note that BiPAP machines are experiencing a similar shortage of machines. With the ongoing recall on Philips Respironics CPAP breathing machines and shortage on BiPAP machines, MHLA has been informed that current suppliers will review requests on a case-by-case basis and allocate accordingly. The FDA is monitoring the situation and working with Philips Respironics on navigating the voluntary recall and is updating the public on developments. Please see the FDA page for latest updates and we will continue to inform you if we have updates from DHS Specialty Care.
