For the last few months, representatives from DHS, DMH, CCALAC and several Community Partner agencies have been meeting to discuss changes to the MHLA Mental Health Prevention Services. We concluded those meetings recently and made some changes to the program, primarily around screening and documentation. Among the changes are:

  1. Screening: CPs will now have the option of utilizing the PHQ-2 measure for MHPS screening, but only when done as part of the attached MHPS screening flowchart.
  2. Documentation: All medical record documentation must be consistent with the recent MHPS documentation video and drafted documentation templates created by DMH and posted on the MHLA website.

We have reissued the Provider Information Notice (PIN) here, which is a contractual document that lays out the program requirements. Click for the revised PIN and a screening process flowchart. They also will be posted on the MHLA website. The changes are in effect now.
