Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center opened its doors on April 26, 1976 as one of the six comprehensive health centers operated by the County of Los Angeles. The clinic offers a full range of primary, specialty, and urgent care services to the public. The facility was named in honor of Hubert H. Humphrey, who served as Vice President of the United States under President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1965 to 1969.
Humphrey and other DHS outpatient facilities are transforming care through the creation of primary care medical homes, where patients see the same provider on every visit and where care is always coordinated. This patient-centered approach places focus on wellness and disease prevention combined with continuous quality improvement.
