Description:\u00a0First In. First to Save. <\/strong>San Diego Blood Bank\u2019s Rapid Response Team is a special group\u00a0of Guardians Circle<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0donors with O-type blood who consistently step up when lives are on the line. These O donors donate whole blood and red\u00a0blood\u00a0cells when eligible to support emergency use of blood products in the field and in hospital trauma centers\u2014helping save lives before patients even reach the hospital.<\/p>\n

Our mission is to enhance emergency medical care by ensuring that life-saving blood is available to trauma patients, individuals experiencing postpartum hemorrhage, and others suffering from critical blood loss\u2014before they reach the hospital. Additionally, it works to strengthen national preparedness for trauma and mass casualty incidents while advancing education and best practices for EMS professionals.
