Non Categorical Interns receive similar education, training, and responsibilities as that of an oral and maxillofacial surgery resident in the first categorical year of the residency training program. The Intern position is a one-year program and cannot be counted toward completion of a formal OMS residency training program.<\/p>\n<p>The internship will provide excellent training covering the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. It will be primarily based at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center \u2013 and The outpatient surgery center at Martin Luther King Jr Community Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the excellent clinical training, the interns will be exposed to a strong didactic component and access to research opportunities. Although not mandated, it is hoped that each intern will complete a peer reviewed publication during the year.<\/p>\n<p><em>This internship year is not accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Length of program<\/strong>: 12 Months<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong>: Stipend, commensurate with PGY-1 HUCLA Housestaff Appointees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:\u00a0<\/strong>Qualified Candidates\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0have DDS or DMD from U.S. or Canadian Accredited Dental School\u00a0<strong><em>and\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>must be a U.S. citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident, or Canadian Citizen ,\u00a0<em>and\u00a0<\/em>must submit all required program application materials by application deadline.
