Welcome to the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Harbor-UCLA, our mission is to train Pulmonary and Critical Care physicians of the highest caliber in a practice setting that reflects the diversity, creativity and innovative spirit of Los Angeles County.<\/p>\n

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, our fellowship program\u2019s primary site is a 570-bed public teaching hospital in the heart of the South Bay of Los Angeles County. As a key site for the LA County Department of Health Services (DHS), the second largest health network in the country, and home to 38 ACGME accredited residency and fellowship training programs, Harbor-UCLA serves as a model for integrated health systems, cutting edge clinical research and innovative care in underserved communities.<\/p>\n

Our training program provides fellows with a wide breadth of training experiences at multiple sites, including Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (Liver ICU, Advanced Lung Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension rotations), Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center (mixed medical-surgical ICU) and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center (Cystic Fibrosis clinic). This diversity of training sites allows fellows to experience a wide variety of practice settings and learn from leading experts in their respective fields.<\/p>\n

During fellowship, trainees will also work with world renowned experts in clinical and basic science research. As professors of the David Geffen School of Medicine and investigators at the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation, our faculty conduct pioneering research in the fields of pulmonary physiology, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, pulmonary immunology, COPD and pulmonary rehabilitation, amongst others. Our fellows will spend time honing their investigative skills to complement futures in both academic and clinical medicine.<\/p>\n

Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
\n

The Division offers a three year combined fellowship training program in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Three positions are offered per year through the National Resident Matching Program to maintain a total complement of nine fellows.<\/p>\n

Fellows benefit from experience at Harbor-UCLA, which has a diverse patient population representing both common and unusual medical pathology in an environment that affords them a primary role in clinical assessment and management with progressive levels of independence. Supervising faculty hold appointments at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The clinical experience at Harbor-UCLA is complemented by rotations at affiliate institutions including quaternary centers along with traditional private and HMO models of health care.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
