Call Schedule

Call responsibilities are in-house on weeknights, weekends, and holidays. There is no home call.

Interns are based on-call in the Psychiatric Emergency Room while on psychiatry blocks and outpatient medical blocks. Shifts include short call Monday through Thursday, and long call on weekends, with overnights on Fridays and Saturdays. During call shifts, interns evaluate new patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies as well as care for existing patients in the psychiatric emergency room who present with acute concerns. There is also a dedicated adolescent psychiatric emergency room which also provides opportunity for interns to gain experience evaluating and treating a pediatric population.

Interns take call with their primary team when rotating on non-psychiatric medical services.

PGY-2’s and PGY-3’s cover the inpatient units and consultation-liaison service on the weekends and holidays. The shifts are daytime only, and there are no required overnights. There is no mandatory call on weeknights.

PGY-4’s do not have required call.
