Our Mission

The program’s mission is to provide the highest quality care in a patient-centered and professional manner while staying attuned to the fact that we care for patients who face notable hardships and barriers to getting healthcare.  We strive to create an environment of inquiry amongst faculty and residents so that we challenge each other to keep up to date on progress in the field of neurology and provide evidence-based care.  Our graduates are equipped to manage the broadest array of neurological diseases in the communities they serve.

Why Harbor UCLA Neurology?

Our patients

The patients we serve predominantly come from the southwestern area of Los Angeles County. Our patient population is ethnically diverse with over 60% of patients self-identifying as Latino, 13% Black, 10% White, and 6% Asian.

Our residents

The strengths of our residents are 1. their support of one another, 2. their professionalism, and 3. their commitment to serving a diverse community of patients that face more economic hardship than most.

Our faculty

The strengths of our faculty are 1. their availability for the residents, 2. their strong clinical focus, and 3. their enthusiasm for teaching both general neurology and the subspecialities in neurology.
