How to Apply
Residency Application
The Harbor-UCLA Family Medicine Residency Program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All applications MUST be submitted via ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). For the 2026-2027 interview season, the deadline for applications is October 23, 2026.
Our selection committee only reviews completed applications that include the following in ERAS:
Medical School Performance Evaluation- MSPE
At least 3 Letters of Recommendation (at least one from a Primary Care Physician)
Official Medical School Transcripts
Official USMLE or COMLEX transcripts
Personal Statement
International Medical Graduates must also submit via ERAS a valid ECFMG certificate
We perform a holistic review of applications received.
We do not use a Step/COMLEX exam score cutoff or restriction.
We do accept applications for foreign medical school graduates and from international applicants. Medical school graduation should have occurred within 5 years of applying.
Please note that our institution will not sponsor any visas. Only J-1 visas sponsored by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Exchange Visitor Sponsorship Program can be accepted. For the 2026-2027 interview season, all interviews will be virtual.
Interviews will be held from late October 2026 to early January 2027.
