Every Woman Counts (EWC) Program
Every Woman Counts (EWC) provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, and Pap tests to California’s underserved women. The EWC program saves lives by preventing and reducing the devastating effects of cancer for Californians through education, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and integrated preventive services, with special emphasis on the underserved.
Breast Cancer Screening - Do you qualify for free services? You may if you:
are 40 years old or older
have low income
have no or limited insurance
are not getting these services through Medi-Cal or another government-sponsored program
live in California
Cervical Cancer Prevention - Do you qualify for free services? You may if you:
are 21 years old or older
have low income
have no or limited insurance
are not getting these services through Medi-Cal or another government-sponsored program
live in California
If you are a current DHS patient, talk to your provider about whether EWC is right for you. If you are not a current DHS patient, visit one of the clinics where staff will help you determine if you are eligible for EWC and other health coverage programs.
