AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)

ADAP covers prescribed HIV medications at no or low-cost. You must be a resident of California, show proof of income and lab values dated within 6 months of your HIV diagnosis.

Who can get it?

Individuals who:

  • are 18 years or older with HIV or AIDS diagnosis
  • are without private insurance or who do not qualify for no-cost Medi-Cal
  • have high private insurance, drug co-payments
  • have adjusted gross incomes of less than $60,300 annually

How much does it cost?

  • No cost

What is required?

  • California residence
  • Photo identification
  • Proof of income
  • Letter of HIV diagnosis with lab values dated within 6 months
  • Proof of Medi-Cal application, with Share-Of-Cost (SOC) or any other third party coverage with co-payment
  • Annual recertification

What is covered?

  • Assistance with obtaining approved medications at no or low cost with a valid prescription from a licensed and practicing California licensed physician
