Occupational Therapy Work Rehabilitation Program

Returning to work after a life-changing injury or illness can be challenging. Since the 1960s Rancho's Occupational Therapy Work Rehabilitation Program has been providing a supportive environment for persons with physical disabilities to address their job skills.

Individual Sessions:

  • Evaluation by an Occupational Therapist
  • One-on-one exploration and development of school or work- related skills
  • Functional Capacity Evaluation: a computerized assessment to determine if you can meet the physical demands of a specific job.
  • Worksite Evaluation: an onsite observation of your workplace to see how well you can work and to recommend reasonable accommodations that may help you.

Group Programs:

  • Stepping Out: a ten-week program for persons recovering from brain injury or stroke who want to get back to doing meaningful and productive activities. Topics include setting goals, time management and community integration.
  • Work Readiness: a six-week program to assess job skills, explore work interests, and help develop clear, realistic goals for returning to work or school.
  • Basic Computer Group: a multi-week program to learn and practice basic computer skills including set up, accessibility, internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Word.
  • Rancho Works Enterprises: an eight-week program that provides the opportunity to build work skills and boost self-confidence in on-campus environments, including a cafe and a gift shop.
