Medi-Cal & Medi-Cal Managed Care

Senate Bill 75 - Health4All Kids.

Establishes that all children under 19 years and in families with income of up to 266% FPL are eligible to full scope Medi-Cal regardless of immigration status   

      Who can get it?

  • Children who are undocumented under 19 years old and currently enrolled in restricted scope Medi-Cal will be transitioned to full scope aid codes. (No new application should be needed).   
  • Individuals under age 19 who meet all other eligibility requirements for SB75, but are not enrolled in Medi-Cal will need to go through the regular Medi-Cal application process for enrollment.

      How much does it cost?

  • Depending on your family size and income you may have to pay a Share-of-Cost (SOC)*

      What is required?      

  • California residence
  • Proof of income
  • Current California Identification or Driver License

      What is covered?

  • Most health care services; doctor visits, hospital care, tests, medicines, emergency room visits, surgeries, vision exams, dental care, substance abuse treatment and mental health services.

      How do I enroll?

  • Online with Covered California/ CalHEERS.
  • (YBN) Your Benefits Now (LA County Portal).
  •  Mail In with the Medi-Cal Streamline Application (provided in English and other languages).

     Where do I apply?

  • Any County hospitals, clinics and welfare office, and other community based organizations
  • Monthly income level above is based on the April 1, 2017 Federal Poverty Levels (FPL) for your family size.

 

*SOC is the amount of money you are responsible to pay in any month you receive medical services before Medi-Cal begins to pay
