Dr. Gausche-Hill is the Medical Director for Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency, Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and serves as clinical faculty for Harbor-UCLA Medical Center’s emergency medicine residency, and EMS and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship programs. She is nationally and internationally known for her work as an EMS researcher and educator, and for her leadership in the field of EMS and pediatric emergency medicine. She is best known for her study of pre-hospital airway management for children published in JAMA 2000 and her work on the National Pediatric Readiness Project published in JAMA- Pediatrics in 2015. She has won numerous national awards for her leadership in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine and EMS. Dr. Gausche-Hill currently serves as one of three senior editors for Rosen’s Emergency Medicine: Concepts and Clinical Practice, and serves on the American Board of Emergency Medicine Board of Directors.

Dr. Nichole Bosson is the Assistant Medical Director at the Los Angeles County EMS Agency. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and adjunct faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she is the EMS Fellowship Director.  She began her medical career working in prehospital care, first as an EMT in Boston, Massachusetts and subsequently as a Fulbright scholar at the Service d’Aide Médicale Urgente (SAMU) in Paris. She came to Los Angeles after training in emergency medicine at NYU/Bellevue in NYC to complete a 2-year fellowship in EMS and Disaster Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and the Los Angeles County EMS Agency.  She is among the first to be board certified in EMS Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is actively involved in EMS research, education, and policy development. Since 2016, she has served on the California State Scope of Practice Committee for the Emergency Medical Directors of California and has worked on several state and national task forces related to EMS and quality initiatives. Dr. Bosson is a certified Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Medical Team Manager and member of California Task Force 2. She deployed with the team to the Nepal and Mexico City earthquakes.

Dr. Dorothy Habrat is the Medical Director of the J. Michael Criley Paramedic Training Institute at the Los Angeles County EMS Agency. She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and faculty for the EMS Fellowship Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in collaboration with the Los Angeles County EMS Agency. Dr. Habrat grew up in Sierra Madre, California. She completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and then completed an EMS fellowship at the University of New Mexico. During her time in fellowship, Dr. Habrat became an experienced flight physician and was also actively involved in wilderness medicine with the National Park Service at the Grand Canyon National Park. Along with EMS education, her interests include event medicine where she has gained experience working at mass gathering events such as music festivals and marathons throughout Southern California.

Dr. Denise Whitfield is the Director of Education and Innovation at the Los Angeles County EMS Agency. She is a former Commander in the U.S. Navy with extensive experience delivering emergency medical care in diverse environments.  She spent 12 years on active duty, with combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Naval Flight Surgeon, she completed operational assignments with the Marine Corps.  As her final Navy assignment, she served as a White House Physician where she conducted operational medical planning and ensured medical care delivery for the President, Vice-President and First Lady.  Dr. Whitfield’s interest in EMS began while practicing Emergency Medicine in Guam where she was the EMS Medical Director for Joint Region Marianas Federal Fire.  Following her service in the Navy, she completed an EMS fellowship with LA County and joined the EMS Agency in July 2018.  She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and serves as faculty for the EMS Fellowship Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in collaboration with the Los Angeles County EMS Agency.

Dr. Millicent Wilson is an EMS Educator and Continuing Medical Education Specialist for the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency.  She’s been a subject matter expert, providing education, training and strategic planning in all aspects of bioterrorism and Disaster preparedness.  During her 17 years of employment, at the EMS Agency, Dr. Wilson has served on numerous local, state and national committees.  She organizes quarterly conferences at the EMS Agency on a variety of topics in EMS including response to chemical, biological, nuclear, and national disasters, pediatric emergency care, and trauma.  She has worked on award winning teams on a number of projects with Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles including Surge World.

Dr. Kevin Andruss is a consultant to the Los Angeles County EMS Agency.  He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.  He is the Base Hospital Medical Director for PIH Health Hospital – Whittier, CA. He has a special interest in stroke systems of care, radiation emergencies and toxicology.  Dr. Andruss enjoys the balance between his clinical practice in the emergency department at PIH Health and contributing to the improvement of the EMS system in his work at the LA County EMS Agency. He also serves as clinical faculty for the EMS Fellowship Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in collaboration with the Los Angeles County EMS Agency.
